Who Am I?
Well, hello! My name is Rainier Jorge Jorda, and if you’re reading this, you might be curious to know a bit more about who I am. I’m currently a 19-year-old Computer Science student at Toronto Metropolitan University—and, yes, I am a bit on the shy side. But don’t mistake that for being reserved; I excel at connecting with others, fostering a sense of community, and always communicating with respect, kindness, and, most importantly, genuine interest. I do have a deep appreciation for quiet, solitary places. Whether working on a project, tackling schoolwork, or simply diving into a novel, solitude lets me collect my thoughts and let my imagination wander. Many people seem to rely on me, and you can, too. My hands are always ready to help, and my goal is to always bring my best—ensuring you’ll enjoy the experience of working together.
Hobbies & Interest
I have a few core hobbies that really shape who I am: chess, badminton, and reading. Chess has been a constant in my life, a game I took to when I was young and grew with over the years. I’ve competed in numerous tournaments, led my teams as captain, and had the privilege of helping new players discover their potential, guiding them to their own tournament wins. Reading, especially novels, has always been a label of mine too. I find myself drawn into worlds that feel rich, emotional, and intricately built, each one prompting me to reflect and, in many ways, subtly shaping how I live and think. Books are a guide, offering glimpses of better, brighter versions of myself. Lastly, there’s badminton—a new passion I found in my first year at Toronto Metropolitan University. Though I’ve always enjoyed sports like basketball and volleyball, I’ve discovered a unique thrill in badminton. It’s a sport that, like chess, thrives on skill and precision. Every match feels like a mental game played out physically, and this balance of thought and movement makes it feel like a perfect fit for me. Together, these three hobbies are core aspects of who I am and continue to influence me in different ways.
My Aspiration
My aspirations for the future feel as vibrant and open as the world I hope to create. I see myself in a world of code, where I can bring people both meaningful improvements in their lives and moments of pure entertainment. There’s nothing quite like seeing people smile, which is why so much of my coding is dedicated to creating games. Becoming a game developer is a core ambition—one that I feel deeply drawn toward as I stand at this crossroads in life. But dreams and aspirations evolve, and alongside game development, there’s a quieter yet equally strong aspiration to become a librarian. Books, and especially novels, have always held a special place in my life, offering not just knowledge but new ways of seeing the world. I want to share that, encouraging others to read and grow. Overall, my aspirations may shift over time, but they’ll always be rooted in a love for creation, learning, and the joy of connecting with others. No matter where I end up, I know these dreams will keep me moving forward.
